Toys
for Tots Cruise

Sunday
November 28, 2004, was the day when all the car clubs gathered
for the Toys for Tots cruise. Together with help from the bB club
of Hawaii and Scion Evolution all Scions were gathered together to
participate in this big event. Being the new kids on the block for
this event, only about 23 Scions, mostly all xB’s, participated
in the event.
The day was a gloomy but cleared up for a bit
to enjoy the cruise. The Scions met at the Servco Scion in
Mapunapuna. One of the highlights of the Scions was the theme that
Shaynen of SE Hawaii came up with, a train. SE member Marshall and
Co spearheaded the task of transforming Marshall’s xB in to a
tank engine. SE members Kory and Co received help from Kory's
friends in making up the big bows that went on every Scion that
participated to make them look like gifts. So the end result was a
Train that was carrying a load of gift wrapped boxes.

When
the Scions pulled into the meeting place at Ala Moana beach Park
all the other car clubs were just amazed at what we had! The Train
caught everyone’s attention with Oohs and Ahhs. The actual
cruise started at Ala Moana beach, Magic Island Parking lot and
went though Waikiki and ended at the drop off spot at the
Kapiolani Park.
One of the great things when you buy a Scion is
the support our club gets from Servco Scion. They really go beyond
the purchase of you car. Rod, the General Manager at Servco Scion
took time to join in the cruise with one of their xB’s
If anyone watched the news the SE Train
was shown on the KHON 2 news. Also Scions were mentioned in the
Honolulu Advertiser's story on the Toys for Tots event.
